cm_ShowHint not working as it should

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

cm_ShowHint not working as it should

Post by *wanderer »

As stated in this thread, there is a small issue with cm_ShowHint.

Settings/Display:
- (1) Show filename in the list as tooltip if truncated
- (2) Win32-style tips with file comments

If (1) is unchecked then (2) is disabled. If it had previously been checked though, cm_ShowHint shows a tooltip, even though (2) is disabled in Options.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3
x64: Clients/Servers from Win7 to Win11 and Win2K12Srv to Win2K22Srv, mainly Win10 though.

The idea of this is that you can use cm_showhints even when you have mouse hints disabled in the configuration, e.g. because you find them annoying. This way you can configure what type hints you want, and then disable them for the mouse.
