Search-module:incorrect Handling of Offline-Files

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Search-module:incorrect Handling of Offline-Files

Post by *385Oster »

Windows has the possibility to use Offline Files in connection with HSM-Storage . These are little stub-files of 2k size with the offline-attribute.
When I do a search with TC with option "find text" , TC opens also these Offline-files and gets them back from the HSM-Archive. In opposite WindowsExplorer knows to handle these files correktly. When you open the search window you have in "advanced options" the check-box for "search tape backup" for searching in these offline-files.
Is there any chance to implement this feature? More exactly: I do not want that TC opens these offline-files in the way that HSM gets them back from Archive.
(This is also a bug in older TC-Versions)

Thanks for your suggestion, I will consider this as an option. Currently offline files aren't handled differently from normal files.

Btw, you can exclude offline files already, by using the plugins page. Set it to:
TC - Offline = No
