Lister + Home/End key

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Lister + Home/End key

Post by *ado »

Some time ago I noticed, that lister do not process correctly Home key. Unfortunately I do not have exact description to invoke it.
When I press Home to go to beginning of line, cursor move 1 line up and 1 char to right - actually End goes 1 line down and 1 char left.
To reproduce you have to:
1. Have file with loooong lines - like 6-5k unformated XMLs in one line and to have at lest 5-10 such lines
2. In lister, F6 - cursor on
3. Wrap text on
4. Cannot see beginning of line
5 Just go to middle of screen and press Home - for it it is ~50/50 to go to beginning of line of 1 line up - if it is ok, just try another page - as I said, cannot reproduce consistently
Anybody else experience the same?

Lister isn't really suited for such long lines. You will also see display errors with such lines.

Hm, is there a clear line lengths limit, up to where no problems are to expect?
Who the hell is General Failure, and why is he reading my disk?
