FTP transfer gets stuck after 255 files of 1.00 MB

Hello all, I have to tranfer with FTP 455 files of 1 MB. After 255 files the transfer gets stucked. ...
I use Total Commander v.7.01 & IIS (v 5.0) from WIN 2000 Server (I tried also with some UNIX servers ... the same result).
I tried the transfer in background mode and I still got the error.
I don't think that is a server problem, because if I tranfer from Internet explorer the transfer is ok.
Do you have any ideea ?

• Maybe is there a limitation coming from the old 16-bit versions that Ch. Ghisler forgot to remove ?
- The “255” number sounds in that way…
- I confess that I never needed to download such a big amount of files at once,
so I didn't notice that, but it's indeed very annoying…

I just downloaded 575 files without problems - they were not of 1 Mb size though, they were of mixed sizes from 1 kb to 2.5 Mb (57 of those = 135 Mb).

I belive you. But I have a question: From where you downloaded the files ?
In my case is a LAN of 100 Mbps, and all the files have the exact size: 1.00 Mb...

From one of my webhotels running apache 1.3.37 on freeBSD OS.

When I have time to upload 255 Mb files I might test it with 1 Mb files. Is that 1024x1024 or 1000x1000 bytes files?

Today I've made another test ... this time after 246 files of 1,048,576 bytes each the program stucked ...

I have downloaded 300 files, each has size of exactly 1 MB - no problem. WinXP SP2, TC 7.01. FTP: Windows Server 2003 + IIS, 1Gb LAN.

I've done another test: 451 files of 1Mb transferred succesfully from the same server to another computer. The only diference is that the new computer is in the same network segment with the server. The other(on witch I have the error) is not. If I make a traceroute from the computer with the error to the server I see that are 2 hops until it reaches it.However, at some point durring the succesfull transfer it seems that the transfer is stoping and after a while (1-2 seconds) it continues.This has happend 3-4 times during the succesful transfer.

I'm using FileZilla Server (ver. 0.23 beta) and all previous versions of TC (6.xx) doesn't make any problem with large file transfers.
