Escape not working in Lister

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Escape not working in Lister

Post by *Mormegil »

View some file in Lister (F3) and search for something that is not there (F7, write some nonsense, enter). A small messagebox appears, saying “Not found.” Do not close this dialog, switch to the Total Commander main window (Alt-Tab), and view another file in Lister. Then, try to close this second Lister using the escape key – nothing happens (although you can close it clicking on the [X] button). You have to switch back to the first Lister window and dismiss the dialog, only after that the Escape button starts to work again.

Well known behavoir. It's feared that this behavoir will not be changed after years.
"Since there are many things which have never happened and never will happen,
and which nevertheless are clearly conceivable, and imply no contradiction,
how can one say they are absolutely impossible?" Leibniz

This behaviour CANNOT be changed with internal lister, ever. The only way is to use external lister.exe from our addons page, then lister and TC have a separate message queue and don't interfere.
