Saerching can't find existing files w. specific name

Post by *Harvester »

When I search in subdirs for a file named: "Inv. zapis.doc" in a structure, where are, by the way, directories named INV, only those directories are found, but no files, though they are there.

I assume the searching process just takes what's before the first DOT and nothing further.

Hi, Harvester.

If I read right the filename "Inv. zapis.doc" holds a space character in its name. Therefore inside the search dialogue you must enter the double quotes around the filename "Inv. zapis.doc". Else TC will search for something called "Inv." and something called "zapis.doc".

HTH,
Karl

The space character is used as separator at search dialog.

Hi, Harvester.

By the time of writing this, T.C. will find both, the folder named INV as well as the file named Inv. zapis.doc even if you do not enclose the file name in double quotes inside the search dialogue.

So this issue has been fixed:
+ Total Commander v7.50 Public Beta 1
+ Windows XP PRof SP2, 32bit

Kind regards,
Karl
