Total Commander

I'm not the 1st user to suggest always displaying folder size, just like files.

I know Ctrl L, Alt Shift Enter, Space. And I know DirSizeCalc 2.11.
However, This is such a basic function that I don't think we should need a content plugin in order to accomplish it.
Besides, SpeedCommander has this function.

Please, please, please, incorporate this feature into TC.

if you tried DirSizeCalc 2.11 , you must know how long it can calculate at the root directory for example. So the total size cannot be "always" displayed. Such a "feature" is not needed. You can install a VisualDirSize plugin, if you want.

People who never use the function can leave this option off in Configuration>Options.
It takes resources, and this will be noted when a user decides to turn it on.
The key is such a basic function ought to be integrated into TC itself.

Even if it will be added to TC, it will be disabled by default, and with a warning on enable.
