Feedback on 2.52 Beta 2

Post by *trids »

Thanks for the new release! Here is some feedback, hope it helps :)
  1. Properties dialog - truncated at the bottom in landscape mode (see attached screendump).
  2. Rename - still doesn't yield expected results (details..)
  3. Thanks for new features - love the new selection toolbar; love the ability to add custom buttons .. and a special thank you for overcoming M$'s failure to support drag-and-drop!
Hmmmm - sorry, can't find a link to upload screendumps! Anyway, the picture shows that in landscape mode you lose the bottom two "rows" of the Properties dialog: the in ROM checkbox; and the Recurse subdirs checkbox.

1. You can upload the screenshot to our Wiki (login with your forum account) here:

No problem here with the latest emulator:

2. See my reply in that thread
3. Please let me know if you encounter any problems with it!

  1. Great! ... thanks, here we go then..
    Image: http://www.ghisler.ch/wiki/images/8/8f/Spb_21_50pc.png
the WVGA format is 480 x 800 pixels .. i just resized the screendump down by 50% on dimensions to 240 x 400.
  2. Debating the rename issue there, then
  3. So far so good -- i really like it. And the way that the drag to multiselect works, it overcomes the loss of the multiselect rubberband (which loss is another casualty of M$'s not-so-bright ideas)

wow I didn't even know about the new multiselect till I read this thread.. It's really good stuff! *thumbs up*

I've got a question though.. I was wondering if Total Commander was intentionally meant to be nearly full screen because the bottom soft keys are hidden when the app is active so if I want to go to the Start Menu, I have to hit the red End key to minimise the app, then go to the Start Menu. Previously the Start Menu button was on top so that wasn't a problem..

@lukesky:  My Start button is in the usual position while TCP is running.

I'm running WM6.1 on a HTC Touch Pro2 (Rhodium) .. What OS & device are you running on? Can you post a screendump to illustrate?

I love it. Very nice.
However, there is no way to close in WM6.5.1 as standard windows buttons on bottom don't exist (where the (X) button would have been)

lukesky, you are using the WinCE version instead of the WM6 one.
We are not so S.M.A.R.T. as we imagine...

And one more wish to the authors. Direct running files from a zip archive, as in Resco Explorer.

Works perfectly with WM6.1 variations and WM6.5 build 21840

Both VGA and WVGA resolutions, 1Ghz Snapdragon CPU

No problems whatsoever on my Axim x51v (WM5). Lots of improvement here, especially the new selection bar, which is a great help!

Also, switching between two files opened in the internal editor no longer locks up my device.

Thanks for all your feedback!

Indeed all you can do now is close TC Pocket via the "Exit" command from the menu. I'm currently trying to find a better solution, e.g. adding a button to show the Windows menu.
