Transfer speed very low from HD to NAS

Post by *Perrito »

How can I increase the transfer from the hard disk to the NAS?
At the moment if I transfer data from NAS to the hard disk the transfer speed is 150 MBTS.
If I transfer data from the hard disk to the NAS the speed is very low 8-18 MBTS.
What parameters should I change to have a good speed from HD to NAS?
There is, also, a plugin that you recommend to increase the speed?
Sorry for my English.
:)
Thanks

You can try different copy methods, e.g. the Explorer method (Ctrl+C Tab Ctrl+V) or other methods via Configuration - Options - Copy/Delete. However, many cheap NAS devices are quite slow because they only have an embedded processor (like a mobile phone) and not a full desktop processor.

Thank's.
But if Iuse a different programm, now I don't rememebr the name, the file transfer is very fast. If I use Total Commander, only in trasmssion froma hd to nas, TC is very slow. If I use from nas to hd TC is very fast.
And now, question.
If I increase in configuration / options / copy / delete the value from 64 to eg 128, or even 10,240, it's a good solution?
Could go or there may be failure in the system?

Sorry, I cannot say, you need to try it yourself. Normally the default method is the fastest to copy between two drives. But if you have very exotic hardware which has been tested only with the Explorer, you should use the Explorer method.

You might try Teracopy. It will sometimes optimize file transfers better than Explorer or TC. You can also configure TC buttons for the operations.
