If I can hijack a bit -
A complete set of stats would be much appreciated, i.e., rather than the time to complete the current file, replace (or add) with transfer stats and total remaining time of the queue (as the queue is almost certainly a Big wad of files going to many places, single file performance seems unnecessary).
An '
absolutely stop the queue operations' button would be most appreciated as well, as I generally use Process Explorer to kill it, rather than try to figure out when / if it is going to quit. Using the close window X has caused the program to hang, but maybe this is addressed in 7.55a, as I am just upgrading.
Drag and drop does not work well for me as TC is in lower left and queue is upper right of my 1920 screen (duals are planned, will be worse then).
Keeping the queue window open at completion as a report would help as well, especially if a STOP command is given. Tracking which has arrived and which has not, and what combination can be difficult to track.
A better method for speed control would be welcome as well - I usually have to limit my speed of transfers to avoid saturating the network or individual Hard Drives. 100 or 1000 KB/s clicks up and down would help, instead of trying to navigate within the speed window, showing 4 of my needed 5 digits. If I make an error and ADD a significant digit, the network comes to a standstill, heheh. (24 thousand vs. 240 thousand).
EDIT: I see five digits now, thanx.
I guess I am asking for a kinda' rethink of the queue... obviously I believe one of the best new features, but kinda' short on user friendliness. I realize I am sounding my age RE new feature, been a customer since 2.x, and still proudly have the disk in my box of 3.5 inchers, lol.
fwiw, my last suggestion was to have F6/move -not- ask all the protection questions, as I routinely move >2G of data all over the network. Thanx for that fix, as it was comical how soon after I had gotten up to get a drink, etc. that the Read-Only, System, etc. question box would pop up, effectively stalling the move operation all the while that I was away.
Much thanx for a great program - queue works fine right now, but if you have a minute.. yeah, I know.
EDIT: I see now that 'background manager' would have been a better search expression, apologies for repeats.
