This request is inspired by this question:

It is already possible to store the wincmd.key file in tcmdkey.zip (compression level has to be 0) and TC will read it - so I suggest that TC can handle an encrypted version of tcmdkey.zip
EDIT: compressed changed to encrypted.

What would be the advantage?

Sorry - I didn't mean compressed - I meant encrypted.
Then you can for example store your key on a USB-dongle whithout the risk of the key being stolen.
TC should of course ask for password before loading the archived key.

And what password would you use? Even if you use a private/public key, TC would need to decrypt the key to verify it, so the user could decrypt it too). Entering a password just for the key would be worse than pressing 1-2-3.

I think it would be about the same annoyance/time consume, but then people could run their TC in registered mode with a safe key if they want.
