- sort file lists as in TC for Windows
- ZIP+Unzip with AES encryption/decryption
- UnRAR, also multi-volume archives
- Plugin interface with plugins:
- list of installed Apps to backup or uninstall them
- FTP with FTPS (secure FTP over SSL)
- LAN (Windows servers via WiFi)
- bookmarks
- history
- search
- built-in text editor
- uses the typical Android user interface
- configrable colors and font sizes
- use third party Truetype fonts
- configurable button bar
The program will be freeware (without ads)
Thanks for your help!

first, sorry for not sending you an email as stated, but i just signed up and cannot use the email version yet as it turns out. sorry for the public reply to your question.
i always loved the wm version and used the 'regular' total cmd at work. so when i got my new android phone i was exited when i read there was an android version coming up.
i have a HTC desire HD with a 480x800 WVGA screen (4,3 inch/109mm screen). running froyo (2.2 android). phone is rooted and i have super user access.
i would love to use the program when it's available and if i can give a little back for all those years of hassle free usage i'd be delighted. so if i could be of any help as a beta tester count me in.
either way thank you for writing (and adapting for different platforms) a great program and keep up the good work!
regards

There is a perfectly working and free UnRAR for Windows Mobile available from the RAR makers here:
http://www.rarlab.com/rar_add.htm
The unrar for Android which I tested didn't really convince me, either they had some problems, or were slow, or restricted.

Initially the beta test will be only by e-mail, but there will also be a public beta in the market once the program is stable enough.

Because there is already a simple text editor in Windows (notepad.exe), and you can use one of thousands of replacements available. There is no default text editor on Android and Windows Mobile.

Once the beta is stable enough, I will put it in the Android Market and on my homepage (still marked as Beta). I cannot recommend to use it for every day work yet, that's why there is a closed beta test. Even if a version should leak out, I cannot recommend that you try it, the risk of data loss is simply too high.

You have to ask Google if you want to be a tester of Android, but I don't know whether they are looking for any testers.
