FTP/SFTP edit file. auto upload on Save

Can Total commander do this yet?

WINSCP does it and I don't want to start using it.

I found this thread, not sure if there was any progress...

http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=26586

What about deleting the temp file after a certain amount of days or something? How does WINSCP do it?

Thanks.

No, TC does re-upload when you close the editor.

yes, it does, but for faster production time I would like to edit the file directly from the server in my text editor, save the file after editing, (keep it open in my editor), refresh browser and see changes. The auto upload doesn't need to prompt to over-write the file each time on save...

Is it possible?

Hi @all, is there somewhere a whishlist for new features? This autosave functionality FTP would be very nice.

Thx. Eddie

I would also be grateful for this feature (maybe as an option?). Saving the file, quiting my editor, then going to TC, answering "yes" for reupload, then going to Firefox and refreshing page, then going to TC to open the editor, making changes, and again, and again, and again ;) .

Thanks in advance for reconsidering our request.

This has been requested, discussed, and denied:
FTP Editing online Files (Improvement) and according to this thread FTP upload on background change?, it was also requested in 2005.

My workaround doesn't work under Windows7 any longer, and I've switched our server to SFTP and SSH/keyfiles. I've tried WinSCP (except that is a buggy piece of junk), so I'm also testing EmFTP by the EmEditor author but it's missing a few features - like Tabs and Favorite folders per domain.

As well it doesn't appear that NetDrive supports SFTP so its not really an option either.
