Well, after a long delay the next beta-version of the VirtualDisk plugin is ready: 1.3 beta 3!

In this version the long-awaited "Mount on reboot" function was implemented, and also correct 64-bit drivers were added which allows to work with the plugin under 64-bit Windows versions. Unfortunately, I could test its work only under Windows XP x64. I don't have Windows 64-bit for Intel Itanium, so I cannot test this version of the driver. If someone has a computer based on this architecture, please, test it there.

Important!
Do read the file ReadMe to know how to install the driver under 64-bit systems!
(In brief: it must be installed from Windows Explorer only.)

Mount on reboot seems to work fine. Thanks for this upgrade and keep working on this plugin.

Many, many thanks to you.

Hi, this is a very cool plugin for TC. I try 1.3 beta 3.

I find that when there is Autorun it does not work when mount ImageFile. Is there a possibility to fix it?

SimilarlyI have some suggestion for other Image Files like these:
1. Support BIN Image Files (.BIN/.CUE)
2. Support ClonCD Image Files (.IMG/.CCD)
3. Support Alcohol Image Files (.MDF/.MDS)

Thank you, both suggestions are in my wish-list already. But they are not easy to implement, so it can take long time. (I'm very busy and have almost no time for programming "for myself" :( )

The version VirtualDisk 1.30 Final is ready.

List of changes:
1. Slightly improved the version numeration system.
2. Added the messages describing some of the errors in more details.
3. The FAQ section was added into the ReadMe files.

is there a possibilty to mouns an image with a shortcut or a menu item?
would be faster than copying the iso to the other pane and then double click.

No, and FS plugin interface does not allow such actions. But you can write a script that will copy your ISO into VirtualDisk, call its Properties dialog and press the "Mount" button.
(But don't ask me how to write such a script, I'm not a script expert.)

Thanks, I checked it in Vista too, but only under virtual machine. BTW, in Vista x64 it works too, but it is necessary to boot with special option to allow loading unsigned drivers. It seems that this is the only way to use the plugin in Vista x64... :( (Signing is quite expensive and, furthermore, it cannot be performed by an individual person, only by a corporate person.)

UDF Support in VirtualDisk plugin wanted

Post by *winni »

:?: Is it possible to enhance the plugin to work with UDF DVD images? I want to mount the image from the Vista DVD. But I only get a REAME.TXT with following content:
This disc contains a "UDF" file system and requires an operating system
that supports the ISO-13346 "UDF" file system specification.
I like this plugin and don't want install other software to mount an UDF image.

By the way, the ISO plugin shows the hidden directory 'boot images', the VirtualDisk plugin don't show it.

I use version 1.30su1 of the plugin with Total Commander 7.02a. My OS: XP Pro or Vista Business.

Theoretically, yes. However, I'm not familiar with FS structures, neither with driver programming, so this feature will hardly be available in the nearest future. :( However, this is in my plans, because I myself meet such images very often recently.

It's because this directory is not present in the real file system of the image. I'll add this into my to-do list, but can't promise anything.

Hello,

Have you planned adding a support for Nero (nrg) images?

Thanks
