[8.0ß9 x64] Can not Drag&Drop files to SSMS

Post by *Execlink »

Can not drop files into Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
This works fine with 7.56a, but the pointer turns to circle with slash indicating it will not drop the file.

Does it work if you start TC "as administrator"?

Thank you, that was the answer.
Under the properties.Compatibility tab I checked 'Run this program as administrator' and it now works.

You should use this with wariness.
Better start TC only when needed via context menu "Run as administrator".
Otherwise every other program started from such an elevated TC (or even Word after opening a .Doc-file) will also run with administrator rights.

BTW: Windows itself does not allow Drag&Drop from non elevated processes into elevated processes (in this case SSMS).
But what always should work is Copy&Paste (<Ctlr+C> .. <Ctrl+V>).

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
