I have the following case:

I use the Custom Fields feature in the Copy/Move overwrite dialog and have set it to use the wdHash plugin for all files. Very useful, because when an overwrite warning is displayed, the hash (in my case MD5 value) is also shown for both files, which may be the same, but only differ in date and time (occurs frequently when you have downloaded a file twice).

The only problem is when both source and target files are very large: the copy/move seems to freeze and only when the hash calculation has finished the overwrite dialog is shown.

Suggestion is to be able to define a size limit for using the Custom Fields. If the file size exceeds a defined value, then do NOT use the custom fields, but show only size and date/time (and possible a warning that Custom field check was skipped).

Answer is the same as here. Just define search template with size limit and choose your plugin for that template. So, it won't be called for large files.
