Hotlist upgrade suggestions.
The Hotlist is the most used feature in TC for me.
Changing and upgrading the list is time consuming in the current form, and I always procrastrinate updateing it. As folder names change, and locations change, the list needs update.
1. After the list pops-up when pressing Ctrl+D:
Left click: change to directory
Right click: edit menu pops up with these options
Rename
Delete
Edit
Insert separator line
Sort by name full list
Sort by name in submenu
Sort by name within separator line
2. Edit mode
Please make it editable by keystrokes (now only with button clicks), with Drag'n'Drop, and in Tree.
Del = Delete item
F2 or Shift+F6 = Change title (Rename title)
Ctrl+Shift = insert separator line
Ctrl+Tab = move one level down into submenu
Ctrl+Shift+Tab = move one level up above current submenu
3. Easy adding of new items to the list
a)
When the hotlist edit window is open, let me continue to use the main Total Commander window, and drag'n'drop direcotries into the hotlist menu.
Now, I have to navigate to each folder one-by-one, open the hotlist, and select the "Add Current Dir" option. This is way too long.
b)
Auto-add of system directories:
Can you add a button to add the following default system directories to the hotlist:
- Start Menu, Windows, Program files, Program files (x86), Total commander plugin, Total commander ini files, Users, Documents
- Total Commander commands
c)
"Add Current Dir with full path"
Beside the "Add Current Dir", I would like an option to make the new entry with the full path, as the name in the list. I used this, and now I have to do it manually for each entry (first add it, then go to edit mode, click rename, and type in manually the full path to the title field).
4. Hotlist upgrade and correcting
Could it be, that TC monitors the entries in the Hotlist, and if a directory changes the name, or is moved to a new location, it also changes that directory name in the hotlist?
Because 90% of the changes I make in the hotlist is to correct changed folder names, or when I move directories across hard drives.
5. Hotlist viewing
a) I would like to see the Hotlist in the Tree view, below or under, like the Favourites in Windows Explorer.
b) And then, I could simply drag'n'drop folders into the hotlist, like it is possible in Windows Explorer.
c) And then, by Shift + Drag'n'Drop, it could add the directory with the full path as name.
