Hello Christian,

If I select a file or folder within a TC window with left mouse button, move the mouse within that window (while keeping the left mouse button pressed), press ctrl+shift (or ctrl only) and release the mouse button, I'd like TC to create a shortcut to that file or make a copy of it, respectively. This is the default behaviour in Windows Explorer (at least for Win7), but TC offers this operation just in between 2 windows (which might show the same folder) or folders.

I'm curious, that nobody else did yet ask for it (at least, I didn't find a post related to this) and would be very surprised if this behaviour is considered as intended...

.. and especially a HUGE thank you for that great 64-bit version! The current beta 11 works very well here and I already use it on a regular basis, especially as the most essential plug-ins (for me) have already been ported to 64-bit.

BTW it is possible to use 32-bit version w/o any problems under win64:) the only thing to remember - to open Windows\SysNative folder instead of Windows\System32...

Yes, of course. That is, what I always did. But today, I thought it would be easier and faster to do it the other way and had to recognize, that this is possible with windows explorer but not with TC. It's the same with 32-bit version und x64: you can access 64-bit context menu items, but it is faster and easier to have them directly...

BTW with Explorer you can drag any file onto any other file and it will execute second one with first one passed as parameter. TC supports drag-n-drop only to subfolders within same panel.

I think you may find any tool that creates LNKs and start it via buttonbar button - it may be even faster.

Of course, there are many alternatives to create links or copy files. But doing it as described would be a convenient one and also be inuitive.

As you said: drag'n'drop isn't yet supported within an panel and same folder and I don't see any reason why this might not change. It also would be a good thing for new users of TC, as this behaviour is familiar to them.

For me, it's not a request with high priority, but "nice to have", but I think it's a reasonable suggestion and hopefully it is easy to implement.

You can drag it to the breadcrumb bar (the path field).
