Ability to define external TC editors

Post by *wanderer »

We (TC users) have some beautiful external tools we can use (like Ultra TC editors). It would be great if there was a way to define those editors in TC's INI so they could be automatically used.

For instance, if an INI entry like EXTERNAL_HOTDIR_EDITOR existed, the "Configure" entry in the hot-dir menu (CTRL+D) could use this editor and if the INI entry or the defined file does not exist, it could then use the internal one.

Comments?

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

You can add command (or even commands) to call such editor(s) to the bottom of HotDirList, close to the "Configure..." command.
It would be useful if you sometimes want to use the internal tool by some reason.

Yup, i thought of that but i believe it would be better if all editors could be replaced with their external equivalents.
