When doing a synchronize (and compare by content) on many files, a lot of time is wasted on big files. Often we know that they have not been changed or don't need to be checked.
What I suggest is a temporary (realtime) workaround: on any line of comparison (I often update the results clicking below the buttons, so I know which file it is comparing currently, but ideally it should work on any file we chose) to have a right click item "mark as equal" and the comparison should skip immediately to the next item.
Currently there are few right-click items which enable us to toggle the state of the line to any arrow or "not equal" sign, but not to "equal" sign. This is not important, but important would be the ability to immediately abbort the current line of comparison and skip to the next.
Of course, this should not be remembered for any future comparisons.
*Edit: Now while I was thinking about this, another idea came to me: The sign (button, don't know how to call it) of the current comparison item (question mark) could be changed to spinning something to give a quick visual indication of the current position. I know this comes with a performance penalty, but I think it's worth it. Maybe check if it is on-screen and display it only then?

Among other things, the upper part of the synchronize dialog specifies what files to compare. The search dialog specifies what files to display, and this is exactly the same thing. I would like both dialogs to converge gradually over time.
I guess it is possible to start with adding a regex check box and the file size line to the synchronize dialog. This will solve the original problem of time consuming comparisons and yes, I guess that regex is way more important than size.
