pre: external-viewer set (for F3)
where: "Find Files" dialog, "Search results" list-view.
what 1: If you select one of the results found and push F3 then standard/default viewer (Lister) opens the file.
(The same if you push button "View" on the left-bottom of the "Find Files" dialog)
expected 1: The file is opened using predefined (external) viewer.
what 2: If you select one of the results found and push F4 nothing happen
expected 2: file is opened using predefined editor
I know I can still "Feed to listbox" where both F3 and F4 works as expected but... you know...
Not realy sure this is a bug, because this works like this since ever and I cannot believe no one ever noticed or no one ever cared.
Still reproducible using 8.0b20x64
View with external viewer in "Find Files" dialog

The reason why only the internal editor is supported is the need to re-pack or re-upload files when you searched in an archive/plugin/packer/ftp server. With Lister this is no problem, but it is with external editors (e.g. when the editor is already running). Therefore it's currently only possible with the internal lister.

ok, thanks for the answer.
Is there a chance that you convert this bug-report into feature-request? :)
At least in case user tries to view/edit file on the file-system. I guess this is most used scenario.
User could also be asked if he wants to unpack/download the file again to view/edit it etc etc. I'm sure you can find better solution than me :)
Thanks in advance.

I already tried to add it, but it was causing too many problems.
