The icons and all the graphics in Total Commander just shines, and I just love them. However the credit card images seems to be very outdated. Registered users doesn't really care because they will not see the nag screen with the pixelart credit card images. Actually that old Visa logo was replaced in 2006 with a newer one.
I've edited the nag screen a little bit and replaced those two graphics with some much nicer ones. I took some .SVG files scaled them down and modified the image to add the smaller ones.
Here is the comparison of the two.

What do you think? It looks much better in my opinion. Please don't flame me, it was just a suggestion! If this will not make into Total Commander I won't be sad.

. So you have my support.

The credit card icons looked good with older versions of Windows and Windows/Total Commander versions prior to 7.0 until there was a massive artwork change. Also there are some ancient help file screenshots what are from an ancient versions of the software. These are the only things that remind me of the old versions. The pixel art icons and graphics looked good at it's time when everybody used it up until Windows XP.
This would help new unregistered users and most likely that users will click these pretty images instead of the old and boring and ugly ones.

They look good - but where do you have them from? Is it legal to use them in TC?

They should be legal for websites that accept Visa and MasterCard as a payment option so it should be legal to use in Total Commander also. The logos I got from Wikipedia, but both of them provide it for free on their website.
As long as a business has an agreement with Visa or MasterCard to accept its card for payment of goods and services, the logo may be displayed on the business's advertising and marketing material. Total Commander already has these logos so why not use the official logos?
You can get the logos legally from below.
Visa:

MasterCard:

Q:Who is authorized to use the MasterCard® brand artwork (“logos”)?
A: Merchants who accept a MasterCard payment brand or brands may display Acceptance Marks to indicate acceptance of the brand or brands. Only Acceptance Marks for the brand or brands accepted may be used on store signage, receipts, or Web sites.
Acquirers, member service providers, and processors may use Brand Marks to market or promote MasterCard-branded products or services in print communications, on-screen communications, and/or advertising.
Code: Select all
Q:When is the Visa logo available for use?
A: As a service to authorized Visa card issuers and Visa merchants, Visa makes available electronic artwork of the Visa brand mark and links to Visa proprietary web sites. Only Visa card issuers and merchants are authorized to use Visa brand marks. If you are working for a Visa card issuer or Visa merchant, please visit our Marketing Center for Visa logo information and downloads.

I can't find other information if you can use it in software or not, but I think it's the same thing if you use it on the web. It's still an application, just like regular desktop ones, except they are online.
I came across an iPhone application that uses these logos, and even more of them. The app is called Credit Card Check by ib8 Mobile Solutions and it's sold for 99 cents. It was last updated on 03 July 2009.
If you check the screenshots you will clearly see that they use the offical branding. Link:

It's still on the App Store, and got approved even if you have to buy it, even if it's full of credit card brand logos.

LastPass did the same thing on their newly released iOS app LastPass Wallet. It's a free app and they use these logos.
