Click then wait for address bar edit

Post by *Maloney »

Coming from file explorer one of the things that's really annoys me is that when you click on the address bar in total commander you have to click in the address bar area then wait for a second or two before focus is set and you can type.

Can this be changed so there is not timeout, you just click and type.

You can create buttonbar button with command cm_EditPath and click it instead, it will allow editing immediately.

Also you can create buttonbar button that will start my little tool that will display change path dialog.

ghisler,
I think he wants to use mouse only. Using keyboard it is much easier to assign a shortcut for cm_EditPath. :)

thanks for the tips, i'll set a shortcut to cm_editPath and try it out but i would like to use the mouse.

What's the point of the delay, can that be removed or at least an option to remove it. Anyone used to using File explorer will find removing the delay useful.

I think some option to disable double-click and enable instant click-n-edit would be good: if user has hotlist button enabled, he can use it instead of double click.
