I am not able to connect a domanin in aruba.it

Post by *francescoschino »

Hi, I try to create a new connection with a domain present at aruba.it
I gave all data, I try to connect BUT even if the userid is corrected, and password too, I do not have connection to the domain.

Solution ?
Thanks a lot for your support.

Have you tried a dedicated FTP program like Filezilla or FireFTP (Firefox add-on)?

I have three domain at aruba.it and all work ok. Look here for how I have configured the ftp, but I think that there must be something else that block the connection, like a firewall or something else...

Well, I did not understand why I have to use another file-manager tool if I have this beautiful Total Commander.

I search the web and I saw that other people have the same problem. The problem seams to be in OpenSSL file.
If I select in the Total Commander the field SSL/TLS I get a message
OpenSSL library not found !.

Now due that Total Commander should have this SSL library, I ask if will be possible to get that from Total Commander support group.

Thanks a lot again for your reply and I wait help from others users

Thanks Damian for your reply, my ftp connection configuration is just the same as yours. I have more less then 30 domains to manage (register.it and webhosting.it) and I did not have any problems at all.

So should not be my problem.

Please, help
Thanks

Hello, Francesco.
I search the web and I saw that other people have the same problem. The problem seams to be in OpenSSL file.
If I select in the Total Commander the field SSL/TLS I get a message
OpenSSL library not found !.
Please, open the Total Commander help. Then navigate to the section Operation => Menus => FTP.
The section about FTP holds a brief section explaining how to enable FTPS - FTP over SSL.
Notes: You need to install the openssl dlls from www.openssl.org. Certificates for certificate vendors like Verisign or directly for servers may be stored in wincmd.pem in the same directory as the file wincmd.ini.
This means you will have to download and install the required DLLs yourself. The error message
OpenSSL library not found!
suggests that you have not done so.

Kind regards,
Karl

I recommend that you get the openssl dlls from the following address, because the one from openssl.org now requires additional Visual C runtime libraries:
http://curl.haxx.se/download.html#Win32

For 32 bit:
Please scroll down to the section named Win32 - Generic
and download the following package (or a newer one):
Win32 2000/XP 7.26.0 libcurl SSL Günter Knauf

and for 64 bit:
Win64 - MinGW64
MinGW64 7.26.0 devel SSL SSH Günter Knauf

The 32-bit dlls need to be unpacked DIRECTLY into the TC directory, the 64-bit dlls to a subdirectory named "64" (without the double quotes).

Hello, Christian.

Thanks for jumping in. - You might change the helpfile in the future because it still recommends www.openssl.org.

In order of pointing Francesco there, I was still searching the forum and the WIKI for a concise explanation of how to setup FTPS correctly in T.C. In vain. Too bad, but searching for FTPS will always end up with threads about sFTP, because folks keep on mixing them up.

Cheers,
Karl

The problem is that openssl.org is the official site - the dlls from there (or actually the site they link to) worked just fine until recently. The curl page isn't guaranteed to stay available, or offer these dlls...

I must extract all the libs or only libssl32.dll?

Only a question: but to connect in ftp to aruba.it you must have SSL/TSL selected? For me work without it and I don't install any ssl library... (maybe only ssleay32.dll and libeay32.dll)

Thanks for Ghisler reply. I download the file mentioned
curl-7.26.0-ssl-sspi-zlib-static-bin-w32.zip
then I unpacked it and I copied the 12 files in the directory
c:programmi/wincmd

Then I edit the ftp connection and I flag the SSL/TLS, the parameter in the host-name changes from
ftp.mysite.com in
ftps://ftp.mysite.com

I try to connect BUT nothing happens !!, same as before, no connection to server.
Other solution ?
Thanks

I have tried also on my Win7x64 PC with TC8x32 and work ok with and without SSL/TLS. Can you post here the log strings that appear on the right top window in TC?

PS: In TC dir I don't have copied any extra lib...
