New Commands to convert QuickSearch to active Filters

QuickSearch has definitely been useful since it's introduction a few years back. The problem I've always had with it though is that it's impossible to utilize beyond that initial quick-filter.

1) Make a selection (during quick search enabled),
Click on the status bar to re-access quicksearch, selection cleared.

2) Change tabs and go back, QuickSearch cleared.

There's likely other examples of where QuickSearch just clears and the Tab loses state.

I'd like to propose one, or maybe two things:

Command Addition:
* Command to auto-convert QuickSearch to an unnamed active Display Filter.
* Command to auto-convert QuickSearch to an unnamed active Selection Filter.

Gui Addition:
* Add 2 buttons beside the Ctrl+S item to activate/disable the Display and Selection Filter.

Thank you for your consideration.

You can press Ctrl+Shift+S to reactivate the last used quick filter.

Thats neat, but not particularly helpful, as it is a Per panel global and doesn't respect what has occured in different tabs.

Further whenever you make a selection during a 'QuickSearch' and show the quicksearch again, the selection is always cleared.

There needs to be a way to not remove selections, and allow one to display quicksearch, remove/and/or change it's filter.

By allowing a quicksearch to be easily (one step, no confirmation) converted to either a FileFilter or SelectionFilter we would gain permanency and state.

Of course the problems with FileFilters are they are forced to be Global Panel filters. Many of us have requested in the past for the ability to not only have Global Panel filters, but also a new (local) filter that only applies to a single tab.

QuickSearch is technically a per-panel filter, but the restoration command you suggest makes it a mix of per-tab but overridden by the last QuickSearch performed in ANY tab (per-panel). Which is not consistent behaviour.
