Multi-rename tool: Using [C] with multiple groups of files

Post by *gezgin »

It's easiest to ask this question with an example. Let's say I have a set of files named like this:

thatname.avi
thatname.nfo
theothername.avi
theothername.nfo
thisname.avi
thisname.nfo
...

That is, there are several groups of files that have the same name but different extensions. There will be two or more files in each group but the number in each group will be the same. There may be many groups. At present when I multi-rename these files with [C], what I GET is this:

1.avi
2.nfo
3.avi
4.nfo
5.avi
6.nfo

What I WANT this:

1.avi
1.nfo
2.avi
2.nfo
3.avi
3.nfo

Is this possible?

Note: I recently had to reinstall ToCo after completely reformatting my computer. I seem to recall that the multi-renaming behavior with [C] used to be the WANT way rather than the GET way. Is there a setting in the configuration file that I need to make to get the behavior that I want?

TIA

Select one extension files with NumPlus or Alt+NumPlus and run MRT. Then select files with another extension and run it again.
