Allo directory tree levels

The old Norton File Manager can show the folder tree at different depth levels, e.g., 0, 1, 2, 3 deep etc. This greatly facilitates navigation.

0 is all drives (C: D: E:...)
1 is top folders on any selected drive (C:\Temp, C:\Docs, etc.)
2 is one deeper: C:\Docs\Invoices), etc.
* is all levels, however deep they go.

One can save these view params for future use so one doesn't have to re-set them every time one needs that view.

Very useful if TC had this feature.

How does this work, I mean what does the tree show when you are in e.g. Invoices\basil

I'd love to be able to upload screenshots for you but can't seem to figure out how to do it in this forum. I also have a shot of how NFM handles zip files, another very useful feature absent in TC. Another possibility is that I send you the entire NFM so you can play with it. It is an ancient File Manager (from the original Windows!) but I still find it the most useful. It even works under W7, but has problems. How do I get these files to you?

I don't know how legal that would be - is there a demo version?

This is an archaic program back from before Symantec bought Norton and they stopped selling or supporting it. My installation is from 1998! Do you think anyone cares? To be on the safe side, I would provide it to you just for you to review it, not to use it in production. Anyway, how do I send you screenshots or other files through this forum?

Better send just screenshots, everyone can read this forum.

You can send me the screenshots by e-mail to support at ghisler dot com.
