Display partial results of dir size calculations

Hello

Currently, when calculating size of a large directory, TC keeps showing a question mark for very long, f.e. 40 seconds to count a directory with 40 000 files.

In contrast, Windows Explorer shows a continuously updated number. This acts both as a feedback that something's going on and as an early estimation of the total result.

Would it be possible to implement such growing counter in TC?

Good idea. Especially if we want to check if some folder fits on DVD disc. With such an incrementing counter we could simply press Esc if the folder is too large, without waiting until counting finishes.

In such case I would prefer to know how many extra data doesn't fit. Also, if you want to fit folder to DVD, its size won't be 100GB, it will be not more than 5-6 GB (else it will be obvious that it won't fit). :)

Still, a realtime counter does provide some feedback to how long the count will take. If you know a folder is "several gigabytes" you can sort of guess how long until it finishes counting.

On top of that, anything that visibly moves towards an end *feels* faster. That's why progressbars exist, and realtime counters is another example of this strange psychological phenomenon.
