Hello,
is this possible to extend the drives list with user folders?
Total Commander has today the drives list like this:
Code: Select all
[-c-] Windows Partition
[-d-] Data
[-n-] \\192.168.10.15\MyFiles
[-w-] CD-ROM
[-\-] Network Neighborhood
But much usefuler has Multi Commander:
Code: Select all
[-c-] Windows Partition
[-d-] Data
[-n-] \\192.168.10.15\MyFiles
[-w-] CD-ROM
icon Desktop
icon My Documents
icon Public Documents
icon Downloads
icon My Pictures
[-\-] Network Neighborhood
Could you make it?

You can use directory hotlist for such task. Press Ctrl+D, do a doubleclick or click * button in path bar (panel header where path is displayed).

Yes, you are right. It will be work.
But the variant that I suggested (to add in drives list):
a) needs no config on every (every!!!) computer
b) users work with these well known folders every day from every program
c) drives list is a beautiful position

TWinKey allows to add any paths or even any user commands to the drive list.

a) a TC user which makes no config at all is not a real TC user.
b) Drive list is as the name says a drive list, not the place for anything else. Windows explorer doesn't show what you want in the left list.
c) the directory hotlist has its beautiful place by default, the * in the pathbar
There are always users which want other GUI layouts but this doesn't reflect real importand features of file manager.

MVV,
Vochomurka,
yes, if somebody need he can find something to resolve a problem.
But with my suggestion I mean a STANDARD embedded feature!
Please understand me right.

With TC 8.50 you can see Computer and Documents in drive list together with drives.
You can easilly make portable TC that will use its own configuration in its folder on a stick so it will work on every PC.
