remove Dup files at same windows and and the face windows

Post by *haibinpro »

I use TC to manage my files.normally are quick compare files and sync dir.
one job is remove Duplicate files.
the other job is compare the diff dir to see are these dir content the samefiles.

there are many soft do with find Duplicate files, but they are all inconvinient.

So ,I try to find a tc plugin or operation(that didn't change filename or filecontent) to do the job.
as we known,TC has two side windows, let's call it leftWindow and RightWindow.
I need the plugin to meet these demand.
1.find if there any Duplicate files at leftWindow and RightWindow.
that means:only choose the files with samesize and compare them and give me the messenger is there any Duplicate files.
These files can have different name or ext.different edittime etc.
This function is usefull if the files is bad organized.
2.quick compare files(compare files by edittime) in leftWindow and RightWindow, and give messenger what files are miss and what files are the same.
why I need this strange requiement?
Currently I use a engineer software call Pro/engineer,It savefiles by addextnum, that is.after the save operate, the file "table.prt.2" will change to "table.prt.3".and someone may rename the filename.and so if i need to compare my own files and his own files.I have to rename my own files and his own files.that is no convinient.
the attachment give you a real flash.
and also I may backup the whole dir and rename somefile's name for some reason.
So , I need a compare tools and it just compare files by edittime.but not name.

You can use the duplicate file finder in the search function - simply speciy two paths in the "search in" field like this:
c:\path1;d:\path2

Note that the ";" is only recognized as a separator when followed immediately by a drive letter or \\ (for unc path).
