FTP: Convert filenames to be URL/filename-safe (sanitize)

Hi,
One of the most-often used FTP-related operation is to convert filenames to an URL-safe format (sanitization), to be able to use them in specific scripts (galleries, thumbnails, video/audio players etc).
I just uploaded a bunch of files into the gallery, but had to use a 3rd party software to prepare the filenames for the action (without losing their original name, so renaming [numbering, etc] was not an option, they must have a meaningful name).
Question:
Would it be possible to extend the current FTP F5 / Copy function of TC with such a function? See the image here.
Regards,
