It would be nice to be able to synchronize dirs as administrator. Nowadays trying to synchronize folder I receive a message:
Error - Synchronize only supports the following combinations:
directory<->directory
directory<->zip archive
directory<->ftp server
zip archive<->zip archive (compare only)

Not confirmed for TC 8.51b1 x64 under Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
No problems to synchronize as administrator
What TC version you are using and what do you want to sync ?

Oh, it seems, I forgot to mention that TC should be run under restricted user.

I have no problems running Synchronize under restricted user running TC either as administrator or as restricted user.
I dont get the described error message. What kind of folders are you trying to Synchronize?

Here are the steps to reproduce:
Let A to be a folder where only administrator has access.
- Run TC as restricted user.
- Enter A as administrator.
- Try to synchronize folders.

It is a well-know limitation of tcmadmin,exe that it does not support running all file operations "As Administrator" which T.C. can perform.
Workaround:
Although Windows users tend to forget so, running several instances of the same programme is a legitimate action on Windows.
Making use of this frequently ignored fact, we create a button in the T.C. button bar which launches this commandline
et voilĂ , we are able to use "synchronize folders" with full administrative privileges without problems (and a lot of other actions as well).
If you want to restrict this elevated T.C. instance to synchronizing folders only you might extend the used commandline accordingly:
and put
in the parameter field.

Run TC as restricted user.
Enter A as administrator.
Try to synchronize folders.
Aha, now I could reproduce it.

Currently only writing to protected directories is supported by the sync tool, e.g. to Program Files. Reading directories which requires admin rights is not supported.

Not fixed?
It can "Compare" folder, but doesn't display any files, and not even displays an error message, so one may think the folder is empty.
Should be moved to "Bugs" ? !

Sorry, currently it's not planned to support it.
