Overwrite when different size

Post by *kwanbis »

Today the copy/move function has an option to overwrite a file when they are bigger or smaller, but no option for when it is different. I think that makes sense, and it should be implemented.

Do you mean different is "bigger OR smaller"? Or different contents?
We are not so S.M.A.R.T. as we imagine...

I'm pretty sure that such option doesn't exist because it is impossible to understand which file is newer when size simply different. And, you can simply copy twice: answer 'all bigger' first and 'all smaller' second time, as a result all files with different sizes will be replaced.

I don't understand what you mean. I-m copying from c:\source to d:\target.

Whenever a file on target is different size than the file on source, overrite.

Today, you have the option to do that whenever the file on source is BIGGER than the file on target, and when the file on source is SMALLER than the file on target.

Any update?

This should be fairly easy, today you probably have a if LESS and another if GREATER, you need to add if DIFFERENT.

PLEASE.

This is already implemented on the sync option, so it should be trivial.

I find it weird that an application that is designed to manage files does not haves such a basic option, and that nobody else requested it.
