I requested an Every folder has it's own counter function in this thread http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=39742
but this function seems can not become reality in coming years, so I have to search external Multi-Rename-Tool, finally I found two:
The first one is Advanced Renamer, it has a function called <Inc NrDir>-Incrementing numbers per dir as below screenshot:

The second one is Better File Rename, it also has a similar function called Sort each subfolder separately as below screeshot:

It seems this function is a real popular function. But, even I can use these tools to add counters by folder separately, I still want to process files in TC, so maybe we can add a function called TEMPORARY DISABLE, we can add a check box at the beginning of each line, if you want to TEMPORARY DISABLE this line in multi-rename window, you can remove the tick mark, the default value is all lines are ticked.
Thus, If we want to add counters by folder separately, we can sort file according to folder first, then check (or uncheck) the check-box to control counter, then get the final result folder by folder.
The TEMPORARY DISABLE function is not only useful for this, if your renaming can not complete in one step, you can rename them with this new function step by step easily, and every step you can select different files to rename.
By the way, if the check box method is not convenient, maybe we can add a rename mask, for example, [W1-5,7,12-14] means: this times renaming only Work for file 1 to file 5, file 7, and file 12 to file 14.
