Hello everyone,

I'm not sure whether this is a problem of TotalCommander or Windows (it's Win 8.0 here), but I have encountered a minor problem that didn't show a proper explanation in TotalCommander.

It was only today that I found out, after many months of confusion, why I was unable to delete some files and folders from my 3TB USB drive. The reason was that it was formated as FAT32 (which I knew), and as such couldn't handle files greater than 4gb (which I knew). The thing I hadn't expected was that you cannot delete several files with a sum of more than 4gb at a time (the bar seems to be 4.200gb, to be precise). Unfortunately, TotalCommander also does not state this issue, and I wonder why this problem even exists. Shouldn't TotalCommander be able to delete the files in a consecutive way rather than all of them together?

I'm glad I finally found this out and I'm curious what you say about it :-)

Best,
Achim

This shouldn't be a problem! Maybe you have limited the size of your recycle bin? Then you need to delete the files directly (Shift+Del).

Ah, ok, this could be. But if the solution is so easy, why is the error message not giving any hints on this?

Isn't this response comming more directly from TC than MS?
