Dynamic window width on hover

Hi,

what do you think about that the window in that you work usw more screenspace that the other. Like a website-accordeon effect.

I made a html5 anim to visualise the idea:

I came with the idea, because I usw two trees and on a laptop the screenspace is mostly too small.

Is it technically possible and would you use it?
