This maybe a limitation of Windows 7, and not an issue with TC, but who knows there just might be a solution worth asking.
I am copying a lot of files and folders over from a network drive to a virtual network drive, both NTFS. The original drive will no longer exist and why I need to copy everything to the virtual drive.
At times I need to know who the owners are on the files, I can right click on a file > go to properties and see who the owner is, (on most file types). Or I use my custom columns that shows it there as well.
My question is: The files that I copied over and are on the Virtual Network Drive all have me as the owner. Is there away to keep the original owners? Just in case someone suggests to have them copy there own, it would be impossible, because of the scope of the transfer.
Thanks,
AC

I don't know if it works over a network to a virtual drive, but have you tried in the Copy dialog to select the option:
"Copy NTFS permissions (may need administrator rights)" ?
"Copy NTFS permissions (may need administrator rights)" ?
