- I copy a file from one dir to another (same logical drive)
- compare the two directories with Shift F2 and the second file (the new one) shows as newer than the old one.
I see - the second file has a new "Modified time" (the current time), the "Created" and "Accessed" time are the same as in the first file. Apparently - because of the newer Modified time, TC shows the second fiel as "newer".
This has never happened to me till now. It happens seldom - only with some files, most are being copied one to one without changing the "Modified" time (I talk about files in the same directories as in the first example).
If I synchronise the same 2 directories the same file shows as different in time (not in content). If I press on the file RB mouse and choose "Copy file properties" - "Timestamp Date-Time" all goes OK - in Synchronise the 2 Directories are the same, with Shift F2 they also show the same, the second file "Modified time" is the same as in the first file, the "Created" and "Accessed" time are the same as before (as in the first file).
I have no idea why this happenes, I tried the previous versions of TC (8.01, 7.57a) and the result is the same. Its the same if I use the "Default method only" or the "Standart copy method (Recomended)".
As a hint to Mr.Ghisler: I use seldomly the Privazer software. There in "In-depth cleanup" it is being explained that Privazer cleans "3- File table cleanup: Cleanup of residual traces in file tables, not only in MFT but in FAT as well, Additional cleanup of INDEX attributes in MFT"... no idea if this has smth to do with my problem.
