File not found error message

Post by *hal2k2 »

Hello This has me scratching my head... I swapped out a usb hub in favor of a 3.0. All appears well... Until I opened TC.. It opened to a frequently used USB storage drive (mostly multimedia) I clicked on a TIVO file and got "not found" the icon showed Windows Media Player if i right clicked open with it played fine.
My desktop program that manages TIVO files plays it normally, windows explorer (hate it) show and plays file normally. Other files on the storage drive are not affected and open as usually in TC.

Any ideas?

Hal

I don't think that this has anything to do with USB 3.0. I guess that the file association isn't 100% correct. The Windows context menu can handle some association bugs, but TC itself is quite strict and fails to open the file when the association is bad.

Please look in Files - Associate - Edit type what is defined there.

Under associations I find the following...

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe"

How long are the path names (directory+file name)? This can be a problem with media player.
