Use the MFT search tools Everything or Hddb.
Both can call TC from the results found.
Hddb is more flexible but Everything will even be supported in the next TC version.

Both tools (x64 versions) work for me without any problemsmakinero wrote:Everything - Error/Frozen
HDDB - ERROR: The build process seems to have stopped unexpectedly.
You might need to exclude the failed K in the option dialog, then perform a build again.
Other Tool - working and fast!
under Windows 7 x64, Windows 8.1 x64 and Windows 10 x64.
And I'm not the only succesfull user of both tools.
MFT reading is not dependend of large or small filesmakinero wrote:Everything 64-bit - slow scans all partition. no reaction (can not be restored to the top!!!)
Not work because not support many files single partition OR large HDD.
HDDB 64-bit - Does not work on my drives. Continuously informs that my partitions are damaged.
Complete nonsense. My partitions - 100% health (CHKDSK)

Other Tool - Better, stronger, faster![]()
Search 29,000,000 small files(test) takes a few seconds

only the amount of entries and your system speed drives the result.
Everything only searches the partitions you configure !
If you don't configure or check the options is your fault.
Your screen shot of another tool does not give us any information.
What other tool you are talking about ?
The screenshot is from UltraSearch.
@makinero: Could you atleast try to write coherent and informative posts? Why this mysterious "Other Tool" BS? It's not the first time...

It has no good feature to integrate it with a File manager.
Before version 2.0.1 one could only copy the path to the clipboard or open the containing folder.
So I had to search for the name again inside of the file manager.
I helped me with an TC em_command for a Nirsoft command line.
This positions TC to the resulting file from the clipboard.
[em_CDToClip]
cmd=c:\tools\NirSoft\nircmd.exe exec show %COMMANDER_EXE% /O /S /A /L="~$clipboard$
Version 2.0.1 can select the file in Explorer but that doesn't help me
as I have replaced Explorer with Total Commander.
What's there to brag about? Sorry but that statement makes absolutely no sense unless you're the author of said software.makinero wrote:ZoSTer - I do not like to brag names of other programs.
I waited until he guess the name of the program,
finally succeeded.
Horst.Epp.-
I reported several bugs in version 2.0.0 and 2.0.3(DEBUG) and has been fixed in 2.0.1
And it's nothing really new.
*edit: First post before his little tantrum:
makinero wrote:Is it possible to improve the speed of file search? finds any files and folders on local NTFS drives and provides the results in just a few seconds.
How to speed up search? Very easy ...
Does not maintain an index which is stored on HDD, but achieves its speed by working directly on the Master File Table (MFT) of the NTFS partitions.
Example:
I tested:
search for files or folders on hard drive 1500 - 6000 GB of any file result takes 2 ... 30 seconds.
