Substring picker also for other placeholders in MRT
Being able to insert a part of a string visually in MRT is really handy. However it's currently limited to the N placeholder. There are alos many other placeholder (mentioned in the help file) and of course all the fields from plugins.
Instead of the current [N#-# Part] picker I would suggest a 'Part picker' button which doesn't insert a new string. The user would point the cursor in the file name field and then press the button. The dialog would now display the placeholder under the cursor. The default selection would be based on the current (sub-)string. The placeholder would then be altered based on the user choice.
What do you think?

Hmm, maybe better use another button as you suggest in thread "Add all available placeholders to MRT dialog".

Thank you for adding also other placeholders to the substring picker and for improving the dialog
I have just one request. Just add one more menu item to the # menu: [?#-#]. This would bring up the plugin field selection dialog (BTW: very nicely done with all the icons and the previewed value) first and then the substring picker dialog containing the value returned by the plugin.

Thanks for implementing feature asked for almost 10 years ago.

This has been added to beta 2 and it works really good. Thanks a lot. It's already one of my favorite features of TC 9.
As always there one more wish
As I use mainly the same fields it would be great to have a list of recently used fields. So below the 'content plugin' menu item there could be a separator (if any fields have been used before) and below it a list of up to five recently used content fields.
