Search info held in DESCRIPT.ION files

Post by *spikey »

.

Some of my applications, such as Acdsee 2.43, use old-style DESCRIPT.ION files to provide a label for jpegs. So I have installed a TC plugin to use DESCRIPT.ION files.

My question is: is it possible to search for strings contained in the DESCRIPT.ION file in a way which lists the relevant jpegs? (If you see what I mean.)

PS: Forgive me but it's been so long ago since I installed the plugin that I have forgotten which particular plugin I use for DESCRIPT.ION and I can't work out how to show my plugins.

spikey,
Why a plugin for descript.ions? TC uses them natively.

Search for: *.jpg
Plugins tab:
- [x] Search in plugins
- tc - comment - contains - <string you are looking for>

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Hello Roman, I thought I needed the FileDiz plugin to support DESCRIPT.ION files. Following your reply I disabled FileDiz and I can search in the way you advised. Thank you.

Can I ask something else. When I use SHow > Comments (Ctrl Shift F2) the DESCRIPT.ION data appears under the "Size" column. Is this correct?

Does this mean I can't see "Size" and the Description at the same time?

Thank you for any info.

PS: I have no entries in Configuration > Custom Columns.

spikey,
You'd need to configure a Custom Columns view that would include columns for tc.comment and tc.size.
