Non-english file names - SOME show OK, some not ...

Post by *orr101 »

Using TC6.0x, I find that some files with Hebrew characters in the file names do not show up correctlly in TC (I get Eurpoean characters, complete with German/scandinavian accent marks). What is puzzling is that some files DO show up correctly. Most problematic are the names of "favorites" created by IE when I do a "add to favorites".
changing fonts does not help.

When I start TC and switch to that directory, I get a warning message telling me the diretcory contains filenames form a different code page, and advises me to "change options for non-unicode programs in control panel - regional settings - Extended"

But on my W2k Pro there is no such control - the regional settings in my control panel have an ADVANCED button (not extended) , which deals with code-page conversions (and Hebrew IS marked there). There is no mention of "non unicode programs".

Can anyone give me a hint? I am fairly tehnical, but this stumps me.

It is not a TC problem.
Try install yours special font in Windows and after set TC with it.
Not recomanded for ever.

Best wish, :D

On Windows 2000, it's the button in the lower right, "Set standard" or similar (I have (Swiss) German Windows 2000 here).
