TC.52a configuration options bug? Win10 bug?

Post by *SquareState »

I installed a 64-bit version on my new computer which is Win10, copied the wincmd.key from my old drive and thought things were fine. However, when I try to make any changes to the Options (e.g., Display Hidden Files and System Files, I get "Error: cannot write to c:/program files/totalcmd/wincmd.ini! Please remove the write protection."

But when I check the file attributes for wincmd.ini, it is not read-only.

This is a single user system and I have administrator rights. Is there something I have to do to assert administrator status?

Probably you have not rights to write into c:/program files/totalcmd directory?
It's impossible to lead us astray for we don't care even to choose the way.

It not a bug.
You just seem to not fully understand the security of your new OS :D
Even as Administrator you cant write by default into Program files tree.
To fix it use the installer which will normaly place the ini files into your user tree.
