Is it possible to keep old fonts in TC 9.0?

Post by *denismarkelov »

Hello,

If I opt out of the new default font Segoi UI, resulting font somewhat resembles the font from TC 8.51, but it is fat and is not looking good (cannot post pictures because I just registered on the forum).

Is it possible to have in TC 9.0 the looks of fonts like in TC 8.51?

Even though better support for high resolutions is a much needed feature, I would prefer to keep TC 8.51 if fonts in TC 9.0 cannot look like in TC 8.51.

Thank you.

I don't understand this question?

You can choose the fonts you like under "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Font" - so what is the problem?

From TC 8.50 TC by default used "Segoe UI Semibold", but in TC 9.0 "Segoe UI regular" is used by default.

BTW, if you just update your TC, the font settings you have used until now will be preserved - it is only if you make a new installation that the default font (now "Segoe UI regular") is used.

Older TC used Microsoft Sans Serif 8 pt. and in bold for "File list font" and "Main window font".

Thank you very much for your answer. I tried changing font to bold, which is why it looked the way I described, but semi-bold is exactly what I need. Issue is resolved.

Fast and simple.
You can write
[Configuration]
UseNewDefFont=0
into your wincmd.ini.
Read internal help (F1) for more info.

Hi, denismarkelov.

Basically you can configure the Total Commander fonts just like you wish. - As petermad had explained. - Cf. this screenshot as an illustration. Definitely no T.C. default fonts. Total Commander - Fonts
So there are 3 areas for which you can change the fonts to your liking. Whether the selected font will be available as regular, bold or semi-bold, only depends on the font which you have selected. Not all fonts will offer "semi-bold" e.g.
