Auto switch mode: ''root of the drive''-folders ONLY

Post by *nadav.sagi »

I have a "Movies" directory in the root of a few of my drives (e.g "D:\Movies", "E:\Movies"...).

I want to switch to a certain mode (sort by date, descending).

What rules should I use?
If I use +*Movies\ the mode also changes in other "Movies" directories, not just in the root of the drive.
If I use +Movies\ or L & +Movies\ nothing happens.

TIA

Try: +?:\Movies\ or +*:\Movies\ - they seem both to work as you ask.

Hi,

Mask "Auto Switch Mode"
"Automatically switch view mode on directory change:" ticked
Rule (name of rule) +D:\Movies\ | +I:\Movies\ - automatically determined by your sub-rules...

Sub-rule1: +: Must match D:\Movies\
Sub-rule2: +: Must match I:\Movies\

Click on the left button between of the two sub-rules and chose:
| OR (any match)

That should fit.

Regards
Karl

EDIT: Uuups - too late.

Thanks!

On a side note, there seems to be a bug:

After I set the rule and click OK, both panels switched to sort date descending (they were showing the roots of D: and E:).
Then, if I opened the Movies directory in either or went back to the root of the drive, nothing happened until I restarted TC.

If you are on the page "Auto Switch Mode" and click "OK" or "Apply", then TC should apply the current modes immediately. If you are on the "View modes" page, TC should apply the currently selected view mode instead.
