Keeping the dos window open

Post by *towser »

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a registry setting in Win XP Pro that makes it so that the default for cmd.exe is to keep the window open after a program is run?

I know that I can hold the shift key while pressing enter to keep the window open, but when I was using Win98, i did not have to do this.

thanks in advance.

There is a _DEFAULT.PIF file in your Windows directory.

Just edit the properties and uncheck the according option at Program tab.

Note that this will change the settings for ALL Console windows.

you might also try the excellent tconsole plugin - by doing so, you'll have a dos window in one of your panels
