Date of files copied to/from FTP remote location...

Post by *daNorse »

When I copy files from a FTP site (Internet site) the dates/time stamps are reset to "today/now"... I have set the option to keep date of copied files in the settings. But somhow this does not work for FTP copying. I think this was not a problem before. But my memory may fail me. Usually I only copy files TO the internet site (remote FTP location). But today I needed a backup to my local computer and all file dates was set to today, in the local backup. On the FTP site all dates/time stamps are intact. I need to keep track of when a certain file was last updated. When dates are rest I loose this information.

I am sure there is a simple solution to this -- but I am at a loss to find it.

Found the solution! And, yes, it was a simple one.

On the dialog box that pops ups after you hit "Copy" / F5 there is an option to preserve the file date.

How could I miss this ! :)
