Anyone with Android 9 Pie?

Unfortunately I don't currently have access to any device with Android 9 Pie.
I'm therefore looking for someone who already runs Android 9 Pie on their phone or tablet:

There is a bug in the Android 9 emulator, and I wonder whether it made it also on devices.
Please try the following:
1. Open secondary storage like SD-Card or USB stick (NOT /storage/emulated/0 !)
2. Try to rename a test file, e.g. test1.txt -> test2.txt

Result in the emulator:
There is an error message that renaming failed, but the file has been renamed just fine.

It would be great if someone could test this on an actual Android 9 device! Please report the result here, or via e-mail to support at ghisler dot com.

Maybe it's already late in the day, but...
I tried renaming a file on USB stick and it fake-failed.

This works for me on Pie in the emulator. Do you get any error message?

I'm on Pie, since today. My phone (Xiaomi Mi A2) got the Pie update.

Everything looks fine in Total Commander at the moment. I did not plug in a USB device yet to try what you describe above, but I will try.

But I noticed a different problem: Everything made the update from 8.1 to 9 except the fingerprints. Maybe because of this I had to reconfigure the apps using fingerprint authentification again. Also tried with Total Command. Did not work. At one point it requests that I use the fingerprint sensor. And nothing happens at all.

I just checked. I have a OTG stick. Put a SD card in and connected it. Renamed a file on the SD card without any problems using Total Commander.

Hallo, i have Huawei Mate 20 Pro with EMUI/Androi 9.
TC fpr Android 2.91
There are some problems with "internal memory" and "SD-Card". Seems the Total commander cant find it.
I i select "SD-Card" i see a folder wirth subfolders that are locatet in the internal Memory of the phone.
The Hi-Care-Software shows the right Folder-tree, TC the wrong. There is no subfolder "Ringtones" on the SD-Card! (and others as well).
Can some help here?

On a Pixel XL with Android 9 and TC 292b1 I got a fake-failure message.

Some phone makers name the internal memory "SD card", for historic reasons.

Makes sense, Google installs the unmodified firmware on their devices, while most other phone makers fix bugs like the once described above.
