Hi!

Is it possible not to copy the filename and extension?
I know that it can't be hidden, neither can it be modified in any way.

So now, is there any workaround to copy only custom columns without filename and extension?

In Total Commander 10.50 you can specify which columns to copy.
HISTORY.TXT wrote:09.03.22 Added: cm_CopyFileDetailsToClip, cm_CopyHdrFileDetailsToClip etc. now accept parameter to copy only specific columns (1=name+ext, 2=first custom, 4=second custom etc.) in normal, comments, and custom columns view. Parameter 1 alone copies full list with headers, for backwards compatibility (32/64)
Help - Dialog box: Choose command wrote: List of internal cm_x commands which support a parameter:
...
CM_COPYFILEDETAILSTOCLIP,
CM_COPYFPFILEDETAILSTOCLIP,
CM_COPYNETFILEDETAILSTOCLIP,
CM_COPYHDRFILEDETAILSTOCLIP,
CM_COPYHDRFPFILEDETAILSTOCLIP,
CM_COPYHDRNETFILEDETAILSTOCLIP
Copy only specific columns:
1=name+extension, 2=first additional column, 4=second additional column, 8=third etc.
Note: 1 alone copies full list with headers, for backwards compatibility
Examples:
CM_COPYFILEDETAILSTOCLIP 2 - skips name and extension and copies the next column.
CM_COPYFILEDETAILSTOCLIP 4 - skips name and extension and following column and copies the next column.
CM_COPYFILEDETAILSTOCLIP 6 - skips name and extension and copies the next 2 columns.

okay, many thanks.

Where can I find those commands?
The ones you mentioned are not present in the "button editor".
Image: http://w-k.bplaced.net/public/greenshot_tc.png

And what parameters are accepted?
There should be a documentation...

I have about 20 custom column views and I use 2 of them regularly and want to copy the custom columns of that view.
How can that be done?
For example CCV1 has audio ID (Artist + Title) and CCV2 has image information (Shutter speed, EV, etc.)
What if I want all of the custom columns except filename and extension?

There should be something easier that these parameters.
So I need to count my custom columns before I can copy them, what the heck...

Your button editor is not a internal TC tool, its a 3rd party add-on.
The normal TC button config shows this new command.
The parameters are explained in the History.txt

What? No! It is the internal button editor which I launch from the Main menu:
Configuration > Button Bar...

Here it is:

No, that's TC's internal command browser.
The normal TC button config shows this new command.
The command is there (it has been for a very long time), but it doesn't show the parameters.

And the possible parameters are?
- 1, 2, 4, 8, ...?
Okay, but what can I do if the number of columns varies?

See Horst.Epp's response above quoting the relevant part from history.txt. The same information can also be found in TC's help when you search for the command name (cm_copyfiledetailstoclip).
Okay, but what can I do if the number of columns varies?
No idea. I guess you could try a number higher than what the number of available columns would allow and see if TC just copies what is actually available.

1 parameter that is the sum of the numbers corresponding to the columns you want to include.

You mean you want to specify columns by column names? That's not supported.

Not exactly.
I have many column view setups.

Let's say column view "Audio" has 2 columns and column view "Photo" has about 15 columns.
What if I need a button that copies ALL shown columns? (2 in case of audio files and 15 for photos).

Without filename and extension?
I guess for 1-15 extra columns that would be:

Code: Select all

You simply make a button which shows as drop-down menu
and contains your different configs.

I guess for 1-15 extra columns that would be:
CM_COPYFILEDETAILSTOCLIP 65534
Wouldn't it rather be CM_COPYFILEDETAILSTOCLIP 32767
And 2-15 would be CM_COPYFILEDETAILSTOCLIP 32766

65534 would give 2-16
